Setup Entourage 2008 with UCSB Connect

  1. Update your Office 2008 to version 12.3.6
  2. If it isn't already closed, close Entourage now.
  3. Download and install Entourage 2008 Web Service Edition patch EWS-1316-EN.dmg. The one with the March 11, 2013 release date
  4. Double-click Entourage 2008, Web Service Edition.
  5. Open Entourage. Go to Tools --> Accounts

Exporting E-Mail From Thunderbird

Exporting E-mail from Thunderbird is a three part process.

Part I - Preparing Thunderbird

  1. Download the ImportExportTools 2.8.0.4 add-on here Right-click on the link and choose "Save Link As..." for Firefox and Chrome, or "Save target as.." for Internet Explorer
  2. Save the file to your Desktop
  3. Open Thunderbird
  4. Click Tools --> Add-ons
  5. Click Extensions

How to import and export your address book in Thunderbird

  1. Click Tools and select Address Book

     
  2. Select the address book you want to export.

     

  3. Then click Tools again in the Address Book and select Export... while keeping your address book selected.

  2. Click Options on the menu at the top then click Filters

     

How to forward emails to a different email address

  1. Log into Outlook Web App (OWA), http://www.connect.ucsb.edu/webaccess
  2. Click on the gear icon at the top right.
  3. Then click Options.

     
  4. Then click Forward your email

How to change your UCSBnetID (email) password

  1. Go to UCSB Identity and Directory Services, http://www.identity.ucsb.edu/
  2. Click Identity Manager.


  3. Then choose your role and enter your personal information.

How to enable Vacation Mode for email

  1. Log into Outlook Web App (OWA) at http://www.connect.ucsb.edu/webaccess
  2. Click the gear icon, then click Options

     
  3. Click Set up an automatic reply message.

How to access Outlook Web App (OWA)

If you are on a different computer that you don't normally use (i.e. at a library) then you will have to access your email with a web browser (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, Chrome, etc.)

The email web interface is called Outlook Web App (OWA), and can be found at http://www.connect.ucsb.edu/webaccess.
