- Log into Webmail, http://webmail.isber.ucsb.edu.
- Click on the Options icons located at the top of the screen.
- Click on Login Tasks under the General Options section.
- Select the checkbox next to "Purge old messages in the Trash folder?"
- Click the drop down box below "Purge Trash how often:" and select Weekly.
- Select the checkbox next to "Purge old messages in the Spam folder?"
- Click the drop down box below "Purge Spam how often:" and select Weekly.
- Click Save Options.
- Click Global Options on the left sidebar.
- Click Login Tasks under the Other Information section.
- Select the checkbox for "Perform maintenance operations on login?"
- Unselect the checkbox for" Ask for confirmation before doing maintenance operations?
- Click Save Options.
These settings will keep your inbox from filling up too quickly. If however, you'd like to retain all your emails indefinitely then you should uncheck the Perform maintenance operations on login and also change the purge options to reflect that.
